I’ve intentionally come to Le Point Ephémère today at 200 Quai de Valmy, 75010 Paris. I wished to come last evening and somehow thought it was considerably farther north from where I started, so each time i asked someone and mentioned Quai de Valmy and people responded that it was behind me, I said, no, no no, you’re wrong.

Well I was wrong. However, as I walked and proceeded to get deeper into what seemed a predominantly Arab neighborhood, I found this place that echoes one at the edge of the East Village in New York City. This Indian/Pakistani vegetarian place with super cheap and healthy dishes that you can choose and mix on the place, together with Basmati rice, altogether with a fish deep fried something or other, it was like 5 euro. Delicious. I also found the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted. Oh man, glad I still have the wrapper!

In my first days in Paris, I managed to grab 12 or 13 hours of sleep, in the first 5 days! Not kidding. I slid into one or another place to sleep with shelter, twice, and the other nights walked all night with my baggage once, and without it, now that I found a luggage locker at Gare du Lyon. Wow, was that nice.

Oh wow, I also found another artifice that echoes nYc’s Highline. I had walked not far from the Gare du Lyon, looked up, saw green, thought of New York city’s highline park constructed on a no longer working above ground train line http://www.thehighline.org/visit, climbed the stairs, and was delighted to find the same type of park, also created on an old above ground train line.

Actually, what I loved was all of the accompanying music there at the fire works on the national day – Bastille Day – in Paris 2017.

Bastille Day is the common name given in English-speaking countries/lands to the French National Day, which is celebrated on the 14th of July each year. In France, it is formally called la Fête nationale and commonly and legally le 14 juillet.

And then there’s this version of someone’s capture of the fireworks at la Tour Eiffel with a psychedelic breakbeat overdub.

Here are some more pictures.
