Sure, I have a cell phone, although to save money, I don’t have a plan, and only get internet access when I know the password of a local site where I happen to be.

I use the internet and look at Facebook, where I read articles, comments and post things, and typically turn FB off when I’m working on writing. By the way, work for which I do not get paid.

However, I see an extraordinary amount of people, mostly in their 20’s (although there is by no means an age limit) walking around the College Hill area by Brown University looking down at their phones. If they aren’t, they have headphones on. Many have blue tooth speakers in their ears. Invariably I rarely see anyone who isn’t walking ALWAYS with a phone in their hand.

What? Always wired? Never simply present in the moment with one’s own thoughts and sensing the world around them? Most joggers also are adjusting their pockets where their phone bounces or are running with the phone in their hand. I heard a long time ago that one should not run listening to music with headphones; not because of the danger of not being aware of one’s surroundings, but because the blood is pumping harder while running and loud music could damage ear drums.

Anyway, here’s the beginning of my series.

  1. Loren Booda says:

I stick to my land-based PC, avoiding my smart phone. Nevertheless, I find myself sometimes addicted to it for verbal searches. My desktop has helped me push my limits on my website, write creatively, develop friendships, research, speculate scientifically, share ideas etc. It serves as motivation to wake up, and to type late into the night.

Soon I hope to get a job as a companion, likely to an elder. where socialization takes precedence over bytes for a few days each week. I encourage readers to plan events throughout the day that are “computer-free.” Akin to the revolutions of television and CDs, cell phones and their applications up the ante — what next, microprocessor implants over intelligent biology?

Maybe there could be a means which helps one wean off the addiction of electronics. What after the age of information; an age of spirituality, rather than “deus ex machina”? It is the responsibility of us all at least to put life over machine, and give precedence to our God-given brains. Money and data change hand-in-hand.

Carol, would you make us a list of your environmental endeavors and how you budget your online time? As it is, you are a role model for the free-thinking. Make programming responsible, dependent on people and secondary to the mind. How many human events do we miss while we serve the servers?

  2. Create an appropriate schedule for releasing these posts. That is seen as
very in order to do on Twitter. Some of these tools are of help if used without excess.
First off what constitutes a huge good ad? http://lebresia.forumserv.com/report-violation.php?url=http://scr888.group/other-games-download/2499-download-lpe88
