‘War Made Easy ~ How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us To Death’ film within | Corporate Media has Colluded, Acting as Stenographers for the Pentagon

Startling, frightening, no Hollywood horror movie could be more chilling than this political documentary. A Brown University study reveals that the USA has engaged in conflicts with 100 countries. The corporate media has colluded in all the conflicts, acting as stenographers for the Pentagon, rather than questioning and investigating.

“20 Years After Iraq Invasion: “War Made Easy ~ How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us To Death”. Critic Norman Solomon alleges that many government administrations have distorted facts and manipulated the media to sell the necessity of war to the American people.”

“War Made Easy” Full Movie | How Presidents & Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death from Media Education Foundation on Vimeo.

Following the film, some activists, writers, educators, stated that we merely have to educate ourselves and focus on ‘media, education, and labor’. The message also was that

‘We the People’ should be the one’s dictating democratically foreign policy, not government leaders behind closed doors, opaquely, and the corporate Media echoing the propaganda and like puppet strings, shoving patriotism down our throats.

Great discovery of very unpleasant information. The messages by the film maker is that the corporate media has been not only complicit, but major persuasive players in holding the line of leaders. The film talks about the blatant propaganda to convince citizens of the need to go to war, often colluding ‘supporting the troops’ with patriotism, conflating being against the war, with not standing by the troops. The film also talks of how the media brandishes the glorification of weapons and always stays clearly away from questioning motives for war or getting close enough to actually see on the ground, the horror and inhumane and immoral nature of war. Those journalists who have expressed a different opinion than blindly towing the line, have quickly been removed.

Well worth it. In most wars the USA has perpetually carried out, many more civilians have been the victims. Only a few members of Congress have stood up against war. Dennis Kucinich talks of American Imperialism. If you want to see a scary movie, in terms of blatant tactics of deceit, this is a documentary horror flick. Leaders state that they’re pulling out, ending the conflict, while actually injecting more money into increasing arms. I recommend informing yourself. The message also was that the people should be the one’s dictating democratically foreign policy, not governments and corporate media pulling the strings and then shoving patriotism down our throats. A Brown University study reveals that the USA has engaged in conflicts with 100 countries

Spineless Biden | Subsidize the Planet Earth

when I listened to the powerful speech opening the COP26 by António Guterres, the United Nations secretary general today, and then read about Biden’s continued support of Big Oil…I could do nothing else than spew out these words. Still to be edited.

Spineless Biden

now you got me sighin’

now i know who you’re rooting for

that’s why we gotta go in through the backdoor

to the COP26 Backdoor that is cuz Time is Running Out

there’s no Planet B so listen up and hear us shout

role playing, carefully choosing words that are not the truth

not defending the rights of the people nor all the life on planet earth

you can ignore this and pretend that there is no cure

you must not have a conscience, that is for sure

because we know we got this, a very simple fact

that when people come together, under strong leaders, they can act

now we know where you really stand

allied to Big Ag that lays fallow all the land

allied to the Oil and Pharma industry too

it’s no surprise that you’re one of the few

more Billionaires made during the Covid year

and their incomes surging out the door

while the rest of the population and earthlings suffer

how can we possibly believe that you’d do any other

with your words, you tread carefully

to guard your finances and prosperity

disregarding the knowledge and truths of scientists

you’d rather pretend that you simply can’t hear this

Hearing the words of the UN Leader

whose words of truth couldn’t be much clearer

we’re ruining the planet, our only home

and the habitat of animals and insects that once had a place to roam

the planet can feed us

life will treat us

but not when we’re enslaved to an economy

that doesn’t appear to give a fuck about reality

we all know that we’re ruining the earth and leaving it to spoil

you bury your head in the sand and ignite your pipe with the flames of your buddies in Big oil

you know as the UN leader has said

that we’re fucking up the planet until everything is dead

you can bend over to pocket more money

from the industries that drill and dig and take for themselves. all the honey

if you’re only listening to the GDP as the measure of wealth

you’re leaving out a big part of the picture – the planet’s health

you can shout the ‘more jobs’ banter and pretend that it’s more important

than caring for your elderly neighbor or the welfare of an infant

if doesn’t matter whether it’s human, insect or bird

they have a right to life and are sacred, or haven’t you heard

the human weakness is to only to think of himself

and not give a fuck about anything else

we can all change this

I know we have it in us

we need to stop being isolationists

and put our efforts to the test

now the air, water and oceans are polluted

and all the nutrition of the soil has been diluted

chemicals made to kill the soil

fossil fuel industry ignore their harm and only care about more oil

buddies in the industries that annihilate life on the planet

guess your bending over so that you can reap some of the profits

that’s why we got to sound out the alarm

and visit the COP26 Backdoor to learn about the harm

a life is a life, whether amphibian or insect

a tree is as significant and as the time ticks

we may be losing it all because of not caring

yet we know that we can turn this around with information we’re sharing

no time to put up walls or borders

just because they are allegedly government orders

the climate has no borders and mass extinction has no clue

about what a leader dictates, if it is not true

FDR knew this, he wasn’t spineless

he created the WPA – Works Progress – and that was timeless

he got people together to act in unison

to build back a better place, than the one that they were left in

we know that this earth could be a paradise

we know what to do, time to stop rollin’ the dice

acting together, sharing expertise and inspiration

joining together all over the globe to share the perspiration

leaders bending over to industries that slice, dig and plummet

the land, the waters and all the life, that’s why we have this summit

but if nothing changes in 26 years

most of us who are not idiots, have a number of fears

that things going the same way, protecting the status-quo

is something that needs to be addressed, these leaders have got to go

demand accountability for the industries that leave their garbage in the seas

we already know that our carelessness and negligence is killing the birds and the bees

we know we can do this, sharing information and compliance

being guardians and stewards of life on this planet is not rocket science

humans need to think beyond their own borders

the reality of global warming isn’t listening to your orders

you will be remembered in history now

as just another party man who threw away the plow

if droughts, fires and floods aren’t enough of a warning

guess you think climate chaos has nothing to do with global warming

yes climate change is human induced and that’s only part of the story

we slice and dice, dissect and fracture the land that is animals’ territory

isn’t it about time to think beyond your own self and foes

and have the ethics and morality to bring this industrialization to a close

we already know what we have to do

we have the ingenuity and the tools too

there’s only one thing stopping the human population

from doing what’s right across all the nations

we know the earth is rich and that it can feed us all

it’s up to us to hold those accountable and stand together tall

shame on you Biden for not even tryin’

if i didn’t believe in the minds and hearts of many, you might have me cryin’

i’m wondering how you can honestly feel

to say what you’re saying and believe that it’s real

now’s the time to create a new brand

banding together to protect our land

to do what’s right and nurture the habitats of life across the eartth

and live in harmony, subsidizing the health of our planet first

let’s do this! together!

Listen to the Scientists, Entrepreneurs, Farmers, Artists, Journalists and Intellectuals who are reaching out to help people to help themselves.  NOT GOVT LEADERS, many of whom have done not-a-fucking-thing FOR THE LAST 26 YEARS OF CLIMATE CONFERENCES.

Instead, hear the voices of community leaders and people who have come from the Global South and all over the world, who wish to defend their habitats, their right to clean air, water and nutrient-rich soil, whose lands are being washed away or scorched by human induced petroleum fed global warming.

Learn about sustainable, fair, renewable and positive actions that we can take in our own homes and communities and ways to bring back ownership to ‘the Commons’ – our own resources of fresh air and water and wildlife, pulled into the wealth and responsibility of the entire community (not funneled off to the CEOs of those who have taken private ownership).

(I  just made this above paragraph up, because that’s what I’d be interested in hearing about).

Nevertheless, listen to the truth and experiences of people who are there to share their stories, not the lies with ties to those dangling their misinformation to sway the public into buying into them.

I just read that “FDR helped lay the groundwork for the post-war peace organization that would become the United Nations”. I didn’t know that the UN is a PEACE ORGANIZATION! Horror Spilling to Grief > Not Halloween Horror, Reality | Insect Armageddon  |  Don’t Choose Extinction

https://globalmindpool.org

global mind pull, attraction globale de l’esprit, globaler Gedankenzug, atracción de la mente global, https://globalmindpool.org

Horror spilling over to grief, are the feelings I have of the human complete disregard and negligence towards all the other species on the planet. Right in the town where I live, and Hershey, the next town over, in this country, and as I posted several hours ago https://digesthis.wordpress.com/2021/10/27/extinction-chinas-relentless-building-and-crush-of-biodiversity/, all over the world.

Several weeks ago, I was bicycling from a place I ride to for WiFi (7.5 miles each way) to sit and work. Along my route I often see deer, whose habitats have diminished due to relentless building. The deer, like many animals, have become nocturnal, to avoid humans. So have I. I wait till very late at night to bicycle home, along areas that are too dangerous during higher traffic hours, due to the complete non-existence of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.

I notice during my various bicycling routes, rows of trees that promise a forest, but they are like a curtain, a veil that is very thin. It is the pretense, of a forest that is ‘postense’ – no longer there. The forests have disappeared. Beyond the narrow row of trees, is more development or agricultural land.

I was on my way home bicycling, and except for the occasional roar of a car or truck, in silence, up a narrow path. When suddenly, I was immersed in a raucous chorus of insects. It was as if I had just biked through an invisible wall. I stopped, stunned and delighted. Got off the bike, to witness why this glaringly stark difference existed. The reason, I had come upon a thin strip of a hectic diversity of wild plants and grasses, that had been left to grow. This thin patch was sandwiched between neat and tidy, well-groomed, proudly manicured lawns. Not a hint of a weed such as a dandelion (which is nutritious and medicinal). The property dominated by lawns and parking lots, accommodating our car-centered culture.

Stop the Obsessive Lawn Mowing, Relentless Building, fracturing of habitats by developments and roads.

In this case, I’m not just referring to the mass extinction of large mammals and wildlife. I’m talking about the methodical cleaning up and sanitizing lawns, and subsequent wiping out complete populations of insects that thrive there.

The micro level, as humans continue to multiply and feed their desire for material acquisition, consumption and convenience, the construction of more human-dominated places, is equal to the destruction of habitats.

In particular, I’m talking about the increasing silence of the insects.

Decline in Insect Populations Silence Spreading

“Recent research report on significant decline in insect populations. In Germany a 75 percent decline in total flying insect mass has been observed over a duration of 27 years in natural reserves (Hallmann, 2017[1]). Another study reports on a 45 percent decline in invertebrate populations over the past 40 years based on global monitoring data.”

I recall how the home where I was raised. The house was skirted with bushes and flower beds, where I’d sit outside and watch chipmunks, squirrels, birds and the occasional skunk sauntering by. A complete Habitat for Wildlife. In addition to cover, we provided water. The new property owners tore all the bushes out and decapitated a 50 year old Wistaria with lavish and fragrant blossoms; also a nesting place for birds each spring.

What were they thinking? Obviously, only of themselves.

I recently witnessed these other busy with life fields of wild grasses with a proud sign, ‘Pollinator Area’, which were mowed over. Just like the strip of wild grasses where I had the eureka moment about America’s obsession with mowing lawns, crushes biodiversity. The wild grasses, a nuisance, untidy looking, ‘surgically removed’. Hershey wants tidy, pesticide-fueled, manicured lawns.

The experience taught me very clearly, that it is not merely the human activity fallout of carbon dioxide from our vehicle use and the industries that are warming the planet, but that we have been methodically, nonchalantly and unflinchingly killing off –  with our obsession for tidy lawn facades. Reliance on pesticides, kill off everything. Extinguishing the plants that naturally grow (trees, grasses, woodlands, meadows, wetlands) Are killing off the habitats of most insects, rodents, birds and mammals. Why are we so clueless? Oh, that’s right. We learn out of habit, and what is advertised as being inviting and acceptable. And the whole lawn mower ‘industry’, is fueled by the oil and gas industry. We lubricate the engines of our machines to unthinkingly plow down more and more natural habitat. Not to mention, sound pollution. Fences that block the movement of wildlife are also criminal.

Monbiot’s article, Miracle of Reduction

“What we need, to stand a high chance of stabilising our life support systems, is not slow and incremental change but sudden and drastic action.

“And this is widely considered impossible. There’s no money; governments are powerless; people won’t tolerate anything more ambitious than the tepid measures they have proposed. Or so we are told. It’s a stark illustration of a general rule: political failure is, at heart, a failure of imagination.”

It’s up to us to read, have conversations with one another and to recognize that government leaders in a democracy, need to be lead by the people. If the people do not elect leaders who are accountable to the health of the earth and all of its creatures, then jobs and profits for the 1%, account for nothing. Humans learn habits, and they can learn to break them.

Recently,  article after article from independent real media who do tell the truth, talk about how the corrupt right-wing leaders such as Trump, Bolsonaro and other continue to allow industries to spoil the planet and manufacture weapons, while the earth, all its creatures and 99% of the global human population suffer the consequences.

UN Report Millions Species Extinct | Anti-Idling Fines | 10 Things We Can Do | Strike for Climate September 20

I talk with people ‘strangers’ all the time – at the grocery store, post office, art events, walking by – about plastic, the climate crisis (el cambio climático), idling engines, etc. I learn things in the process.  There was a massive heat dome sweeping the United States this past weekend. A few days ago I was informed of this report about the level of emergency of the climate crisis we are in, written by people in the Australian Navy, divulging the truth that they have learned.

Shocking UN Report Warns Millions Species are at Risk of Extinction due to Human Activity Democracy Now

Shocking UN Report Warns Millions Species are at Risk of Extinction due to Human Activity Democracy Now

Frankly, what does it take to get people’s attention and leaders to have the strength to go against the status quo of thinking about their coffers, and actually taking unprecedented action by enforcing sweeping informational campaigns and establishing regulations to change peoples’ habits – and particularly industry practices? As in Burningman, when people are facing the extremes together (as opposed to the wealthier ones remaining insulated from the elements), when we are all participating together to make the changes that we need to, then brilliant minds will continue to have great ideas to help out in different communities. I think the only way we can do it, is when ALL PEOPLE PARTICIPATE.

Australian Military Report High Liklihood human Civilization Ending 2050 Independent

As long as the truth is not out to the public, we can keep shopping and acting as if we are clueless about how our actions affect this. Thing is, it appears that many people are. News feeds are lined with sleek automobile ads, seducing you to believe that you’ll suddenly have that exceptional strength and fire to finally do what you want. As if.  We can not let government inaction, choosing to ignore the truth as they bow and cater to the oil oligarchy, to steam roll ahead. There are the few politicians who are principled and brave enough to speak the truth; i.e. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, the Squad of newly elected women of color democrats – each one ferociously eloquent, each one could cause DUMPH (CHUMP/TRUMP) to just melt or start screaming like a toddler and covering his ears. Yet we really sort of have to help to steer this, and do something, rather than waiting for ‘the next election’; ad infinitum.

BUSINESS AS USUAL, NEEDS TO COMPLETELY STOP.

The Climate Reality Project the Climate Crisis and Your Health

The Climate Reality Project the Climate Crisis and Your Health

Here are 10 examples I thought of, that we can do [with money earned through idling fines] to better our environment and build a nature friendly infrastructure. At the post office, mentioning idling cars, one of the postal workers responded that the state of New Jersey imposes a $75 dollar fine for a car parked with an engine on (idling). New York city, $150 for idling buses. There could be bicycle cops in cities who are only hired to enforce this, to gather tens of thousands of dollars a week, just here in the small city of Providence, to contribute to:

1. bicycling lanes to invite more ease, comfort and safety bicycling
2. bus transportation system that is electric or solar powered
3. fines to homes that are using too extreme of a power usage to air condition their homes (unless the inhabitants are elderly, disabled or ill)
4. paying people to plant trees in their yards, streets and parks
5. create community gardens where people can grow their own food and enjoy community participation in the process
6. putting money towards transportation and building architecture that is renewable
7. creating more parks and pathways for animals such as: animal bridges and tunnels, bee highways
8. encouraging people to bicycle, rather than drive in a car
9. creating local transport that is not gasoline based, but bicycle powered, solar or electric trollies that are fun
10. stop buying water in plastic!!! please

Global Climate Strike September 20, 2019

Why Are You Striking for the Climate

“Millions of people across the world are going to be striking for climate on September 20, all with different experiences of the climate crisis. We’re all a part of this movement for a better world, and all our stories and reasons matter.
Are you joining in? If so, tell us why. We want you to take a selfie or record a quick video explaining why you’re going to take part and show your support for the incredible mobilizing already happening from our youth.
We also need you to do more than just take a selfie though, don’t forget to sign up at globalclimatestrike.net. We need you on the streets in September.”

I just wrote to a local educational institution and then to the Congressman in the state where I reside presently, about making legislation to enforce anti-idling laws.

Congressman David Cicilline of Rhode Island

subject: Establish Anti-Idling Laws for RI > Funds from Fines to Create Jobs Transportation Infrastructure

Back of the Envelope: Establish Anti-Idling Laws for RI > Funds from Fines to Create Jobs to Build Community Greenways & Renewable Energy Transportation & Building Infrastructure.

The state of NJ has anti-idling fines of $75./automobile. New York city fines idling buses, $150. Nova Scotia, Canada just passed laws against idling vehicles waiting in fast food take-out lines. There are plenty of state, county and city anti-idling laws. It is a no-brainer that in Europe, where many vehicles are diesel, turn off the ignition when they aren’t moving. Many countries have excellent train transportation. Train transport could be subsidized, to invite people to use public transportation because it is cheaper and more efficient than driving.

https://www.edf.org/attention-drivers-turn-your-idling-engines

When Federal government leaders in large countries such as the USA and Brazil are in climate change denial, and more in the pocket of the Oil Oligarchy, they tend to ignore the present extinction and climate crisis. That is when individual State, County and City leaders need to set precedents and show their accountability and ‘best practices’, as leaders for others to follow.

How about a ‘Have you Heard’ educational campaign, to inform the public about the consequences of idling (among other habits)? We are currently in an unprecedented climate crisis. It is not 10 years away, it is happening now, around the globe.

The habits of individuals, collectively, quickly add up.

My encounters as a bicyclist residing in Providence and having visited Block Island, RI, after living in multiple US cities, states as well as abroad, has lead me to being completely astounded at the apparent total lack of awareness of individuals. I see dozens of idling cars and trucks, daily. Most individuals simply are not aware of the impacts of their idling cars and trucks; of the toxic fumes released in the immediate vicinity of their vehicle nor awareness of how the heat and exhaust affect global warming. Because of this general lack of knowledge, nothing will raise their attention or raise your budget faster, than establishing legislation and fines, to set the precedent for others to follow.

I have contacted the RI Governor, Mayor of Providence, RI DEM, Brown University and am finally contacting the most appropriate recipient, the one who can establish state-wide laws to prohibit idling, and fine people.

Allison Archambault, Supervising Air Quality Specialist
Climate Change & Mobile Sources Programs – RI DEM –
Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, retorted to my letter, that “Motor vehicles may not idle unnecessarily for longer than five consecutive minutes during any 60-minute period.”, siting https://rules.sos.ri.gov/regulations/part/250-120-05-45 a law on paper.

However, there is absolutely no enforcement nor awareness of this law. Various police officers know nothing of anti-idling laws. A woman officer in Providence mid July, 2019, told me she knows of no anti-idling laws and ‘what people do in their cars is their own business’.

She is unequivocally incorrect in her response. It is not up to the individual, when collectively, each contribute to poor air quality that affects others directly in their vicinity and long term effects of CO2 emissions leading to the potential extinction of humans, along with the human induced 6th mass extinction of life on earth. it is everyone’s business when the quality of the air, water, the temperature and fumes emitted in the immediate vicinity of a vehicle and temperature of the global environment is warming due to ever increasing CO2 levels.

I implore you to take a stand and impose legislation and fines. You could accumulate tens of thousands of dollars a week, hundreds of thousands a month, if you’re interested in deterring peoples actions and at the same time utilizing the money towards creating jobs to build green infrastructure.

Please impose laws and fines. $75/car, $150/truck, $300/diesel engined vehicles. Double the fines if they are caught a second time. Create a task force for this issue, police on bicycles, to regulate and enforce it. $300/dirty institutional air conditioning systems. Enact a statewide campaign.

I can not emphasize the huge number of vehicles i come across daily, on every block. It is so excessive, that it is blowing my mind. I have resided in several states and abroad, and have never come across such an excess of idling vehicles and complete lack of awareness as well as blatant hostility in response. I’ve encountered parents sitting in their idling SUV’s while waiting to pick up their kids from school.

Students test ozone levels where cars idle at schools

KSLTV, students test pollution from local idling cars at school zone

Students test ozone levels where cars idle at schools

There is no age, ethnic, or socio economic divide, there is a tremendous lack of awareness.

I just sent a letter to Brown University to implore them to educate their Facilities’ staff about the implications of idling vehicles, to encourage them to enforce anti-idling rules and be leaders with ‘best practices’ for other organizations to follow.

I’ve blogged about the IPCC report and the need for particularly the developed wealthier nations and the US in particular, as the leader in emissions from the transportation sector and a major player in habitat destruction and industrial pollutions, to be accountable to the world community and be leaders in creating jobs, rebuilding renewable energy infrastructure.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reported that we have ten years to avoid outright disaster and extinction of the human race, while human activity has already triggered the six mass extinction of all other creatures, mostly due to the human energy demands tied to the Petroleum industries, along with excessive building, global warming from CO2 emissions with the transportation sector responsible for most.

https://digesthis.wordpress.com/2019/05/18/ipcc-climate-change-report-highest-recorded-co2-levels-arctic-temperatures-bill-mckibben-discussing-significance-of-rising-co2-greta-thunberg-ted-talk-enforcing-legislation/

I routinely encounter people sitting in their idling vehicles talking on their phone, saying that ‘they’re just about to leave’. I encounter people who are working in houses, in construction, in moving businesses, who leave their trucks idling while they are working outside of the vehicle, yards removed from their vehicle. I can not ignore this issue, because it is scorching my nostrils and heating my skin, literally every day, every block. I do not have the time to approach people – as i do frequently to gently communicate this – nor do I wish to risk my life with some hostile reactions, because people become defensive when approached. The public needs to be informed and educated through campaigns, the media and most effectively, by laws that spell it financially, since that appears to be the main driver, not just running the world but ruining the world.

Please contact me if you want to hear what I encounter on the streets, in dirty detail.

Sincerely,

I’m doing this on my own time. This blog is not for profit, no advertising.

Greta Thunberg Swedish SchoolStrike Climate Activist Demands | Informing the Public & Declaring an Emergency

Greta Thunberg speech Austrian World summit

A year ago the Swedish 15 year old student, Greta Thunberg, began striking her school and sitting before the Swedish Parliament. Her demand was for her government and the press to be honest about the issue of climate change and to inform the public. She was initially prompted to strike after wondering why there had been silence on the issue? Why had it not been foremost on everyone’s agenda and in every news story?

In her present speech at the Austrian World Summit in Vienna, Greta Thunberg has yet another powerful delivery. She mentions that millions of students were inspired around the world to strike school for the climate. Yet students can’t do what all of you adults can. This needs to be declared an emergency and made top priority.

climate change, global warming, extinction, Greta Thunberg, Austrian World Summit, Vienna

Greta Thunberg captive audience speaking at the Austrian World Summit in Vienna

She reprimands the audience that they haven’t been living up to their responsibility. Reminding them in her straightforward tone that, ‘humans are capable of so much, yet, still, hardly anyone is aware of the gravity of the situation.
